After a national search, the Board of the Fine Arts Society Classical Music 88.7 FM/HD (FAS) has selected Megan McKinney as its new Executive Director.

McKinney, 36, has served for the last seven years as Senior Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for the Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT), Indiana’s only fully professional not-for-profit resident theatre.

She will lead a staff of eleven and be tasked with providing strategic direction in enhancing the Society's programs and increasing its local and regional visibility. “I’m thrilled to be taking on the Executive Director position for the Fine Arts Society,” McKinney said. “The FAS is a nationally-unique organization and I look forward to bringing community- and state-wide attention to what, for some, may be the best kept secret in the Indianapolis cultural community.”

“I am delighted Megan will be taking over the leadership of the FAS,” said Dwight D. Lueck, partner, Barnes & Thornburg LLP & president, FAS board of directors. “She already has a solid foundation in the arts and not-for-profit worlds in Indianapolis and brings with her a creative energy that will blend beautifully with the Fine Arts Society’s goals for the future. The remarkable part is that Megan doesn’t have to learn to be passionate about the FAS – having worked closely with us before through IRT/FAS collaborations; she already understands the organization’s uniqueness and importance in the community. In Megan, we have the perfect kinds of enthusiasm and experience to move the FAS forward strategically and with focus.”

McKinney will assume her new position August 11, 2008.
